Enjoy scenic views of the eastern slopes and learn about the unique ecology of montane ecosystems, alpine meadows and the unique butterflies that live there.

Come along on this moderately challenging day hike with Isaac Peetoom Heida, a PhD student with a background in plant ecology. He has adventured all over Alberta and is currently the project coordinator for changingrockies.ca, a website that helps to increase awareness about how the Canadian Rockies are changing in response to human activity and climate change.

Learn about alpine butterflies and wildflowers, see how the landscape influences what plants grow where, and have your questions about native plants answered!
