Singing in community is a healing force. We all need more community and more music.
This is a chance to reach toward the wilderness while in great comfort. Adventuring without leaving your house is often looked down upon but in this adventure it is the only way. Surprises are expected.
During your part of the adventure you will be sitting at home, presumably with a glass of good wine or other beverage choice, singing along to great choruses during a live concert on Zoom. This may look peculiar to others in your house, so encourage them to join in or go for a walk. The walk could be their adventure. Audience members will not be heard on the Zoom broadcast so you can sing loudly and boldly to your heart’s content. And you can play along to the songs if you wish.
George and Carolyn’s adventure will have three parts:
- George will play and during this set every second song will have a good chorus and you will be encouraged to sing along. Sadly, for technical reasons your mic will be muted but this gives you lots of freedom.
- A number of people who remember our wedding or some of our many birthdays will tell stories. Some of these will be funny, some informative, some may feel like a roast. Part 2 will last about 30 minutes.
- Special guests from the east coast, west coast and the Calgary region will present songs during a one-hour set. Each person will perform two songs. There will be a fine variety of music.
A link to the zoom chat with instructions for joining will be sent to registered participants in advance of the event. As well, all participants will be sent a brief tech guide in case you are not familiar with Zoom. It is very easy to use. We will advise on how to make the sound better for those who like to fiddle with tech.
