Here is your chance to see a variety of gardening ideas that can work in a challenging growing area. These three recreational gardens mould elements of the wild into themes representative of beautiful wild rockeries or woodlands. The host gardeners will explain how they achieved their results. Each garden is the creation of the hosts without the aid of professional gardeners; a Crevice Rock Garden, a beautiful Rockery Garden and a long-established and starkly practical vegetable garden will be included on the tour. A cup of tea and refreshments will be provided on one of the patios.
Half a day, probably a minimum of 4 hours. Distance travelled would be about 25 km one direction. A refreshment break will be provided in a garden setting at the half way point.
Bring clothing to match the day. Sun glasses and sunscreen and maybe insect repellent, water bottles and sun hats should all be considered.
We will be on private properties, so everyone must pay attention to any wishes of the hosts, such as not walking in certain places or venturing beyond the obvious garden area.
Meeting point for the start of the tour will be Bearspaw Acres details will be sent to registered participants. We do not plan to car pool because of Covid 19 restrictions.
This adventure is scheduled to run in late June, when the gardens are in full bloom and at their best. However as it will be partly dependent on the weather, the date is the 28th of June with a rain date of the 29th of June.
We will observe COVID-19 precautions and guidance from Alberta and expect participants to follow appropriate sanitizing and social distancing. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
Thank you for joining us for this exceptional day out β we look forward to meeting you there!
Please bring a personal mask and hand sanitizer
